A new Microsoft Word document was created July 21, 2011. That afternoon, it had 41 bullet points to potentially start a "series of essays" about matters "both significant and trivial" in the sporting world 37 years before the creation of the file. I called it SPORTS74.doc.
I know the concept was inspired by a site called Game Shows '75, but I forget what prompted me to start this project. However, I'm glad I did. From the memories of the first half of the 2010s when I was first building Sports74 through research to the books I bought specifically to help me flesh it out in the 2020s, this has carved a place in my life and body of work.
